Checking in from SF

IMG_0040Time has sure seem to have gotten away from me lately! Lots has changed since my last post. Betty is officially an SF resident, started my new job just this week, and am on the hunt for a photographer friend to help me out with blog photos in the city. Know of anyone? ;) I just realized that I’ve lived here for a full month already and I don’t think there has been one dull moment.

Some of the highlights so far: Outside Lands takes the cake. Hall & Oats, RHCP, Pretty Lights, Paul McCartney, Gary Clark Jr. Talk about an awesome weekend.

If anyone has any recommendations of must-do’s in SF – please send them my way.

These shots are from one of my last shoots in Sacramento. I wish I could get away wearing this outfit around here… but I’m pretty sure I would freeze before I even stepped foot outside of my front door. Either way, I still am obsessed with this denim skirt by Cameo. I can’t remember the last time I wore a jean skirt…. okay that’s a lie because I used to live in one, but they were never this cute. I tried to keep the rest of the look simple, with my neutral Slate sandals by Shutz, a slashed-back white T by Sabo Skirt, and my prized shark tooth pendant necklace.

I need to find a way to make this skirt work in colder weather… Where there’s a will, there’s a way right? Any suggestions?

Hot Summer Nights

I’ve been trying to make the most of my last days here in Sacramento. I sure will miss this town and especially the hot summer nights. It’s the perfect place for one of my favorite trends of this summer…or of all time.. the LWD. I got this little number from Free People for my birthday and I haven’t stopped wearing it since.

Who else is rocking the little white dress this summer? How do you like to style yours up or down? I couldn’t pass turning mine into a casual cool look with a pair of boots and a denim vest. Simple is key during the summer for me.

Happy Thursday! Hope you all get into some fun this weekend ;) xo Betty

Summer Daze

Summer has officially arrived in Sacramento and it’s definitely here in full force. With the days being well over 100˚, finding something cute and comfortable to wear can be a daunting task. Fortunately, I swooped up my new favorite dress from Cuffs. It’s the softest and lightest material ever and solves all of my problems on these overwhelmingly hot days.

Luckily, for July 4th, I’m off to one of my favorites places in the world, Tahoe. After that, I am excited to announce that I will be moving to San Francisco! I can’t wait for a change and look forward to the new opportunities that will come with it. Who else has fun plans for the fourth? Whatever you may be up to, I hope you have a fun and safe time! xo Betty

Electric Kool Aid

Love these last shots from my photo shoot with Tyler & Christina! I’ve had this blazer for what seems like forever now. I bought it on sale because I love the unexpected back cutout, but the print has been a tough one for me to work into my wardrobe. I figured the only way I could make it work was to keep everything else super basic. This summer I’m all about all-white everything. I’m pretty much planning on living in little white dresses for the next couple of months so I hope you’re ready.

This time around I chose to pair it with my white skort from Zara that everyone and their momma owns, a white tank that is actually a racerback on the front but you can’t really see… and my favorite open-toe  booties from BCBG. I’ve recently chopped a few inches of my hair off, so these photos are making me miss my length! But I’m happy having it shorter and playful for summer.

On a side note, not only is it Memorial Day this weekend, but it’s also my birthday and I am officially starting to feel old (ha!). Hope you all have a fun and safe 3-day weekend. If you have any ideas of how else to pair this blazer, I am all ears below :)

Cheers! xo Betty

Animal Magic

I cannot get enough of this Zara skirt lately. It can be dressed up, dressed down, and the print is just all over fun. Needless to say, it has become a staple in closet recently. These photos are from another shoot I did with Tyler & Christina of M Portraits and I absolutely love how they turned out. We walked around downtown and they showed me some cool locations that I never even knew existed in Sacramento. I can’t wait to see where they may take me next.

I’m off to the city this weekend to celebrate birthdays and bay to breakers. Can’t wait! Hope you all have a fun-filled weekend! xo Betty
